Together with James Hargrave from ABSTRACT8, Josh launched the archive FOOD | LANDSCAPES AUSTRALIA https://www.foodlandscapes.com.au/.

The immersive, interactive website contains 881 drone videos, 360-degree drone photography, an interactive map and 3D food elements systematically documenting the state of Australia’s agri-environment.

The research challenges romantic portrayals of agriculture and food production through an immersive counter-image archive using cinematographic drone imagery spanning all states and territories, all commodities and major industries, and all scales of commercial farming.

Based on geolocated database containing over 1,750 entries, 38,000km of systematic field research was conducted 2021-23 resulting in over 10,000 images and videos gathered by the author. Over 8.5 hours of moving image in 881 original aerial drone videos can be selected for viewing through an interactive web-based exhibition, that systematically links Australian foods with the landscapes that produce them.
