Joshua’s article ‘Challenging Assumptions in Urban Restoration Ecology‘ was published in Landscape Journal a internationally leading, peer reviewed journal in Landscape Architecture and associated disciplines. It was part of a special issue themed ‘Multifunctional Landscapes‘. The article examines problems with restoration ecology and the inflexible use of native plants in urban contexts. It briefly explores the benefits of alternative approaches such as urban agriculture, productive landscapes and water sensitive urban design.
